The Italian Placement Exam is a WebCT-based test and is administered only at the Language Lab, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

The Italian Placement Exam is divided into three parts. Your previous knowledge of Italian will determine which parts of the exam you will need to take:

·        Take Part I of the Placement Exam if you have had 1-2 years of Italian instruction and/or you have spent at least 2 months in Italy

·        Take Parts 1 and 2 of the Placement Exam if you have had 3-4 years of Italian instruction and/or you have spent at least 6 months in Italy

·        Take Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the Placement Exam if you have had 5 or more years of Italian instruction and/or you have spent 1+ years in Italy

If you have little or no previous exposure to Italian, register for Italian Elements 1 (210.151); there is no need to take the test.
